Reflection about metacognition

Metacognition is a thinking about your thoughts, it examines what you're understanding and what you are not understanding while you are having a conversation or thinking aloud. When I'm doing metacognition exercises I really enjoy both type of exercises which are metacognitive conversation and think aloud. A metacognitive conversation is when you are being aware of their mental activity by describing and discussing it with others. Also, thinking aloud is when your discussing thing or say things out aloud of what you're thinking to help you complete the tasks. I really enjoy doing those activities like thinking aloud exercise by making up an animal in 60 seconds from using a clay. Even though, I enjoyed the exercise of thinking aloud, it also faced some difficulty. When I tried to say things out on what I think, it feels very weird because I don't usually say or share my thinking aloud. Metacognition would be useful for me, as a student, because it helps me think deeper to the topic I'm thinking, which makes me understand a lot of many things when I think deeper.

  1. Your point about verbally sharing what is going through your head is unnatural, is honest. I wonder how one goes from verbalizing their thoughts to deeper thinking? What is the connection?
